Pope John XXIII
Angelo Giuseppe Roncalli
Pope John XXIII
Was born in 1881, the third of thirteen children in a peasant family in Sotto il Monte, near Bergamo. yet due to his intelligence he was able to get out .He was sponsored for an education at the Bergamo seminary, which carried out a severe religious training. When Roncalli was ordained, in 1904, the Church was fearful and inward looking. In 1871, with the loss of the Papal States to the modern nation of Italy and the restriction of Vatican sovereignty to its current borders, Pope Pius IX was very concerned and in this state of mind, he had forbidden Italys Catholics from taking any part in national politics. Roncallis first assignment as a priest was as secretary to the new Bishop of Bergamo, Giacomo Radini-Tedeschi. Bishop Radini-Tedeschi was a reformer who sought to re-involve the Church in the world. In August of 1915 it was discovered that Radini-Tedeschi had cancer. Pope Pius XII died on October 9, 1958, and the conclave began two

It is nearly impossible to find someone who does not have an opinion on the issue of abortion, and usually his or her opinion is very strong. When people debate on the issue of abortion they become frustrated, and tend to become even more committed to their position, of pro-life or pro-choice. Both sides of the issue make good cases; an unwanted child is a horrible thing and yet the thought of terminating something that, if left to nature, would become a person is a thought not even the hardest heart could bear to think about. So where is the argument Those who are pro-choice say that the decision of aborting an unwanted child should be left to the mother; otherwise it is an infringement of her rights. On the other hand, pro-lifers would say that abortion is murder of an unborn child and that it is infringing upon the rights of that child. Still, if one studied all aspects of abortion, such as the history of abortion in the United States, the way a fetus develops, how ab!

Mozart?s Prodigious Life
Without a doubt, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart born January 27, 1756, in Salzburg, was probably the greatest genius in Western musical history His father was a noted composer, pedagogue and author of a famous treatise on violin playing. Together with his sister Nannerl, Wolfgang received very intense training that by the age of six, he was a budding composer and accomplished musician. In 1762, his father presented his son as a performer to the imperial court in Vienna, and from 1763 to 1766, he took both children on a musical tour across Europe ( Crane Arizona Opera ). Wolfgang became the most celebrated child prodigy of his time as a keyboard performer with a great impression too, as a composer and improviser. Life is a priceless thing that can never be replaced. Every living thing that is on the Earth is here for a purpose. So it is very horrendous when a child who is just beginning his or her life is brutally murdered by the act of abortion. This child is affected the most by abortion because he or she will never have the opportunity to experience the happiness of life. The act of abortion is morally, scientifically, and legally wrong.
Abortion is an immoral act that should never be performed. Our society?s beliefs are ruled by moral acts. So an abortion contradicts this belief. Life is precious and should be protected by everybody in this society. Many religions also believe that abortion is wrong because it is the intended killing of a live, human being. The morals and beliefs of many people are affected by their religion and many religions believe that it is immoral and against their beliefs to kill an innocent, harmless infant.
Scientifically, abortions is against all of its standards. Scientific studies have shown us that a fetus is full of human life at the time of

This article is about the effects of gender and music video imagery on sexual attitudes. Basically it is about how people view the videos and try to relate it to real life. A group of 44 U.S. college students were randomly assigned to 1 of 2 groups that viewed either a video portraying stereotyped sexual imagery or a video that excluded all sexual images(Kalof 1).
These 44 people met for a 1 hour session to participate in a music evaluation experiment(Kalof 2). When they arrived they were greated and assigned to 1 of 2 groups. One of the groups would view a sexually stereotyped video while the other group would watch a video that excluded all gender and sexual stereotypes. The idea behind watching the different videos is to distinguish whether or not the music videos have an

Music storage devices such as Mp3 players have become progressively a more popular trend today then it had been earlier, especially with the boom of music downloading. It seems almost everyone owns an mp3 player, and most likely it is an Apple iPod. Apple iPods are in fact riding on the pop culture wave; their use has changed the American youth socially, and in a beneficial way.
The world has become a rapidly changing place, this holds true especially with technology, where a product can turn from cutting edge to obsolete in a matter of weeks. Although there is one gadget that seems to have etched its place in stone, the Apple iPod. It has become a household name; a name that brings fun, pleasure and excitement to everyday life. It has a reputation all of its own. The truth is that many believe iPod is simply one of the best media inventions of modern times. Its ability to carry 10,000 songs anywhere can be seen as a blessing to a multitude of people.
On October 23, 2001, Apple introduced the first iPod, which became, and still is, one of the most sought after products in consumer history. Immediately, some

Psychedelic Drugs In Therapy
There are several psychedelic drugs that are being studied to determine if they have any promising medical possibilities. D-lysergic acid (LSD), ibogaine, and methylenedioxy methamphetamine (MDMA) are among those drugs. LSD has shown potential for treating drug and alcohol addictions and cancer patients. MDMA has shown promise when used in conjunction with psychotherapy. These drugs, although promising, have serious side effects that may outweigh their benefit. More studies still need to be done before these drugs are legalized for use in medical and therapeutic situations.
Medical Possibilities for LSD and Other Psychedelic Drugs
The National Institute on Drug Abuse funds some studies to determine if psychedelic drugs have any medical possibilities. Scientists at the Orenda Institute in Baltimore are examining LSD as a possible treatment for addiction to heroin, opium, alcohol, and sedative hypnotics. Researchers at the University of Miami are studying ibogaine, another similar psychedelic drug, as a potential treatment for cocaine addiction. Other scientists are focusing their psychedelic research on studying and learning more about the human brain, relieving pain in cancer patients, and discovering antidotes to drug overdoses (Kurtzweil, 1995).

From 1973 to 1987, over 22 million abortions have been performed. Pro-lifers would call that a terrible waste of human life. True, 22 million lives were taken, but I believe that we are better off without those. Please let me explain in the following report.
What is abortion
Websters dictionary defines abortion as “the expulsion of a nonviable fetus.” Abortion might possibly be the most controversial topic right now.
Im sure by now that youve heard of all the different types of abortion. Almost all abortions performed in the US are surgical abortions, where the fetus is removed by suction or other means. (Medication offers another option, to be discussed later in this report.) During a suction abortion, the fetus is dismembered and disposed of by a small tube. This process takes but about 10 minutes, and the mother experiences very little or no physical discomfort. Pro-lifers immediately say that emotional trauma and guilt haunts every woman after she has an abortion. However, during my research, I found numerous women who led (and continue to lead) prominent and scot-free lives after their abortions. I think that the mental state of the mother depends very much on her personal feelings

Vanessa Carlton is a new young artist that has come a long way in a very short amount of time. She got a four star rating on her debut album, Be Not Nobody. That says a lot for a young artist these days. She not only has a beautiful voice, but she can play the piano like Beethoven. She even writes her own lyrics and Alicia Keys influenced her. Although people may say that they sound alike, they are entirely different artists. Stephen Erlewine, the writer from allmusicguide.com, says that she has the soul-searching of Fiona Apple and the precise intricacies of Rick Wakeman.
Her style is very laid-back and relaxing. She uses a lot of orchestral background music to help aid her Spring-like voice. The result is something quite surprising: it has an overwhelming, sweet, multi-layered appeal to people of all ages and cultures. The first person who actually introduced me to her music was one of my guy friends. He is only twenty and he is African American. I was surprised to hear that he moved out of his normal rap music and actually paid attention

Do you think that abortion is the same thing as murdering your own child People have argued this question for centuries. In 1996, there were 30 abortions for every 1,000 women aged 15-19 (?Teen? 1). I think abortion should be against the law because it?s harmful to the mother and it kills the baby. I will discuss about abortion by talking about the abortion methods, reasons and affects of abortion.
Abortions are performed using one of several methods. The safest and most appropriate method is determined by the age of the fetus, or the length of pregnancy, which is calculated from the beginning of the pregnant woman?s last menstrual period (?Abortion? 1). ?Most pregnancies last an average of 39 to 40 weeks? (?Teen Pregnancies? 2). This period is divided into three stages known as trimesters. The first trimester consists of the first 13 weeks, the second trimester spans weeks 14 to 24, and the third trimester lasts from the 25th week to birth. Abortions in the first trimester of pregnancy are easier and safer to perform while abortions in the second and third trimesters require more complicated procedures and pose greater risks to a woman?s health.
